My Minotaur Holds Steady

I first laid down the song by cutting up live drum tracks into a rough outline for the basic structure of the song. After that, I tracked the bass parts, some with a 5-string fretless. I use some effects by Electro Harmonix to simulate a guitar(s). As with a lot of my songs, I laid down the vocals several month's after the music has been written. Vocals don't come easy for me, as a result, the process is notoriously hard.

Hold steady.
Wait right here.
I'm gonna be the President and you can be my Secretary of Defense.
And we, we'll raise an army and call them up when we get unhappy.
And I'll hire engineers and they can build a fortified city.
We'll rule with impunity as we sit and watch the minotaur hold steady.
I'm gonna run for government.
